A Local IT Firm Takes a Bold Step in Service Exports:
GlassHouse’s Second International Expansion to the Gulf
Turkey’s leading managed cloud services provider, GlassHouse, has expanded its service exports to the Gulf Countries, following its successful operations in South Africa. In response to the increasing demand from countries such as Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Oman during the pandemic, GlassHouse is now establishing an office in Doha, following its Johannesburg branch.
Continuing its steady growth, Turkey’s leading managed cloud services provider, GlassHouse, is accelerating its international expansion efforts. With the objective of positioning Turkey as a central hub for IT services and addressing the rising demand driven by the pandemic, GlassHouse has embarked on its second international investment, this time targeting the Gulf Region. The company’s primary goal is to establish Turkey as the epicenter for IT infrastructure services in the region.
“Our Goal is to Position Turkey as a Hub for IT Services”
GlassHouse CEO Alp Bağrıaçık emphasized that this expansion will support the digital transformation of both public institutions and the private sector in the region. He stated, 'After our investment in South Africa, we are continuing to export our expertise and capabilities in the IT sector through this second overseas expansion. As GlassHouse, we are committed to ensuring that Turkey claims a larger share in global digital transformation and IT markets. By continuously expanding our product portfolio through acquisitions and partnerships, we aim to position Turkey as a major hub for IT technologies.'
“We Will Expand Our Market Share in the Region”
Regarding their investment plans, Bağrıaçık noted, 'Since 2018, we have built the most extensive IT infrastructure services portfolio in the region, not just in Turkey. We provide end-to-end IT services to the region’s most prominent companies, supporting their digital transformation journeys. In 2019, we opened our first international office in Johannesburg to meet the demand from Africa. Additionally, we are observing strong demand for our Data Backup & Business Continuity, Cyber Recovery, and SAP services from the Gulf Region. While we have been addressing these needs from Turkey, we have now decided to establish a new presence in Qatar to respond more swiftly and effectively. Through our newly established company in the Gulf, we aim to further increase our market share in the region.'
Experienced Leadership at the Helm of the Gulf Expansion
Under its Gulf strategy, GlassHouse will provide services to the region’s largest 300 companies, offering Data Backup & Business Continuity Solutions, Managed End-to-End IT Services, and SAP Infrastructure Solutions. The newly established GlassHouse Gulf office in Doha, Qatar, will be headed by Hakan Dincel as Country Manager. Commenting on GlassHouse’s regional expansion, Hakan Dincel stated: 'GlassHouse is a customer-centric service company. Thanks to this approach, we continuously grow our customer base and receive consistent recognition for our service quality. We aim to leverage our high-level expertise, experience, and service excellence both in neighboring countries and globally. We are confidently progressing to replicate the success we’ve achieved in Turkey across the region.'
Hakan Dincel, a graduate of Middle East Technical University in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, also holds an MBA from Bilkent University and a Master’s in International Business from MIB School of Management, Italy.
